FSPHP Attends ACGME Symposium on Physician Well-Being
|
Dr. Art Hengerer, FSPHP Board of Directors, Dr. Chris Bundy, FSPHP Chief Medical Officer, and Linda Bresnahan, MS, FSPHP Executive Director were invited to the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) 2024 Symposium on Physician Well-Being on November 18-20. Their focus was to spread awareness and understanding of the role PHPs. The goal of the symposium was to partner with guests who specialize in the physician health and well-being space to review and discuss the progress and impact of the well-being movement within graduate medical education since 2015. Attendees were charged to identify successful strategies and initiatives that have effectively contributed to improving the well-being of medical trainees, faculty, and staff. Attendees were further challenged to define the future ideal states for both the GME clinical learning environment and the individuals within it, explore well-being focus, and propose actionable strategies to enhance the environment and ultimately improve the well-being of medical trainees, faculty, and staff.

FSPHP Meets with American Hospital Association
|
FSPHP Executive Director, Linda Bresnahan, MS, and Chief Medical Officer, Chris Bundy, MD, MPH connected by video call recently with American Hospital Association Leadership including Chris DeRienzo, M.D., AHA’s Senior Vice President and Chief Physician Executive, and Elisa Arespacochaga, MBA, Vice President of AHA Physician Alliance. AHA’s Physician Alliance is a strategic initiative launched to build relationships with clinical leaders around physician leadership, resilience and well-being and managing populations, and providing high-value care. FSPHP's goal is to continue the dialogue with AHA to provide education to raise awareness among their members about the impact of PHPs in supporting hospitals in addressing physician health challenges. The AHA represents hospitals and health systems across the nation, making it an influential partner for sharing resources highlighting the value of PHPs in mitigating risk associated with health concerns that impact practice. Our goal is to help hospitals understand how to integrate PHP support into their operations.

Dr. Chris Bundy Presents at AMA 2024 Interim Meeting
|
FSPHP Chief Medical Officer, Chris Bundy, MD, MPH participated in the panel session, Legislative and Regulatory Advocacy to Support Physician Wellness, at the American Medical Association's (AMA) 2024 Interim Meeting in November. This panel discussion explored how organized medical staff physicians can advocate for legislative and regulatory changes to promote physician wellness. Key topics included revising state medical board practices, transforming licensing questions, improving accreditation standards, and strategies to create a supportive environment that attracts new physicians to the workforce.
