What kind of entities are eligible to apply for FSPHP-ETA™ accreditation?
Geographic The FSPHP-ETA™ program is geographically global in scope. Evaluation or treatment providers anywhere in the world are eligible to apply for the FSPHP-ETA™ program. Applicants must have the ability to tailor and nuance the safety-sensitive concerns unique to practice within the jurisdiction(s) applicable to the applicant.
Type of Client Served
- The FSPHP-ETA™ program is exclusively for entities that provide evaluation or treatment services to workers in safety-sensitive occupational roles.
- During the application process, applicants shall specify the cohort(s) with which the applicant claims to have specialized qualification to treat; criteria shall be assessed within the context of the claimed cohort(s).
- During the pilot phase of the FSPHP-ETA™ program, the program will be open only to applicants specializing in the cohort of healthcare workers in safety-sensitive occupational roles.
Scope of Services Offered
- The FSPHP-ETA™ program is exclusively for entities that either perform fitness-for-duty assessments / evaluations or deliver treatment.
- FSPHP-ETA™ accreditation includes a base credential for both evaluation and treatment entities, with an endorsement module for entities that provide fitness-for-duty (i.e., fitness-to-practice) evaluations / assessments, and a separate endorsement module for entities that provide treatment. It is mandatory to apply for at least one of these two endorsement modules in addition to the base credential. The base credential is required for either endorsement module.
- Entities that provide both fitness-for-duty evaluations and treatment may apply for both endorsement modules.
- Entities that perform competency evaluations (of participants' occupational knowledge, skills, and abilities) but do not provide either fitness-for-duty evaluations or treatment are NOT eligible for FSPHP-ETA™ accreditation.
Levels of Care Provided
- Entities that provide treatment at an outpatient, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, residential, or inpatient level of care are eligible for FSPHP-ETA™ accreditation with the Treatment endorsement in the FSPHP-ETA™ program.
- During the application process, applicants applying for the Treatment endorsement shall specify which level(s) of care they have the capacity to provide. That capability will be assessed, and if the applicant becomes accredited, the FSPHP-ETA™ accreditation Treatment endorsement shall specify the scope of level(s) of care for which the entity has been accredited.
Types of Disorders Evaluated / Treated
- For entities applying for FSPHP-ETA™ accreditation with the Evaluation endorsement, the applicant must have the capacity and resources to assess any condition that may lead to impairment, such as: Psychiatric disorders, medical disorders and conditions, process disorders, disruptive behaviors, professional sexual misconduct and boundary issues, chronic pain, substance use disorders, and neurocognitive disorder.
- During the application process, applicants applying for the Evaluation endorsement shall specify what they have the capacity and resources to assess. That capability will be assessed, and if the applicant becomes accredited, the FSPHP-ETA™ accreditation Evaluation endorsement shall specify the scope for which the entity has been accredited.
- For entities applying for FSPHP-ETA™ accreditation with the Treatment endorsement, the applicant must have the capacity and resources to treat any condition that may lead to impairment, such as: Psychiatric disorders, medical disorders, process disorders, disruptive behavior, professional sexual misconduct and boundary issues, chronic pain, substance use disorders, and neurocognitive disorder.

Treatment Modalities For entities applying for FSPHP-ETA™ accreditation with the Treatment endorsement, the applicant must offer multiple evidence-based treatment modalities appropriate to workers in safety-sensitive occupational roles and individualized to the participant's needs.
